To give the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 a symbolic presence in Valtellina, we conceived a large-scale installation of the five Olympic rings near the green ridge above the village of Cino.
Along a route that follows the Via dei Terrazzamenti, the Terraced Vineyards Trail, and speaks to a genuine bond between the land and the Games, we designed an experiential path with a walking and cycling section featuring 18 storytelling pillars. Each one recounts a chapter in the history of the Winter Olympics, together offering a global view of sport.
Winding through terraced vineyards, villages and open landscapes, this new Olympic Walk is an important opportunity to promote Valtellina and its cultural and sports tourism. At the same time, its integrated narrative invites visitors to slow down and reconnect with the landscape, discovering new places and the deeper values of sport as a whole.
Our studio was responsible for the concept and art direction of the project. We also led discussions with public bodies, developed the installation proposals, and defined the narrative and identity guidelines for the entire project.
